As schools reopen in Tamil Nadu, Dinamalar – Pattam, the newspaper’s student edition, is set to begin its 10th year with several new sections aimed at schoolchildren.
The tabloid-format daily, published in full colour across 12 pages, is designed for students from Class 6 to Plus Two. Ongoing sections on artificial intelligence, coding and futurology will continue in the new academic year.
New additions include features explaining UPI transactions and related technology, developments in solar power generation, and updates on growth within India’s armed forces. The edition will also carry segments on Formula 1 racing, general knowledge updates, and guidance on how students can use banking services.
A mathematics feature titled Maatri Yosi, presented by IIT Madras Director V. Kamakoti along with mathematician Rajesh Sadagopan, will continue this year as well. The weekly page, which introduces mathematics in a different way, has received strong response from students, teachers and parents over the past four years.
Science Q&A column Vengi’s Answers by scientist T.V. Venkateswaran and the maths Q&A Pi-yan Answers by professor R. Sivaraman will also continue. Pattam will be delivered to schools on all school days from Monday to Friday.
