Shivakumar, a Congress leader, formally assumed office as Karnataka’s new Chief Minister on June 3. Along with him, Deputy Chief Minister Parameshwara and 12 others were sworn in as ministers.

Following the change in leadership, the state has begun reshuffling IAS officers. In the first phase, announcements were issued on transfers and postings of secretaries across various departments.

Rajendra Cholan, a 2008-batch IAS officer, had earlier served as Shivakumar’s secretary when he was Deputy Chief Minister. With Shivakumar now taking charge as Chief Minister, Rajendra Cholan has been reappointed to the same role.
