RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Wednesday alleged that certain forces are attempting to prevent India from becoming a powerful country by undermining its cultural values.
Speaking at an event in Nagpur, Maharashtra, Bhagwat said India should move in the direction of a “renaissance” and continue progressing, noting that there is a widespread desire to move forward.
He claimed that some people seek to create divisions within society and that efforts are being made to trigger unrest over minor issues. According to him, these attempts continue in different forms.
Bhagwat said India’s values and traditions, if strengthened, would raise the country’s standing on the global stage, and that this is why some forces try—directly or indirectly—to weaken them.
He called on society to act actively with a clear understanding of its identity and purpose, for the welfare of the nation and the world.
