Venezuela’s acting president Delcy Rodriguez, on a five-day official visit to India, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Wednesday to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the leaders reviewed India–Venezuela ties and explored ways to strengthen collaboration across sectors including energy, trade, health and automobiles. They also exchanged views on international and regional developments of mutual interest.

MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepen cooperation and support the progress of countries in the Global South.

Officials said Venezuelan ministers also visited energy, pharmaceutical and automobile-related industrial facilities in and around Delhi to understand investment opportunities.
