Chennai: The Tamil Nadu Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Vijay, has decided to roll out 436 long-term “visionary action plans” across departments under a framework titled ‘Aram, Porul, Inbam’.

The first cabinet meeting of the new alliance government, comprising 34 ministers, was held at the Secretariat in Chennai. The meeting began at 10:05 am and concluded at 11:20 am. Ministers discussed a range of issues including law and order, narcotics control and monsoon preparedness.

According to the government, the action plans are aimed at implementing commitments outlined in the election manifesto released under the banner “Vetri Tamilagam”. A 10-point action framework has been drawn up under the three headings.

Under ‘Aram’, the Cabinet has listed 52 plans to strengthen Tamil identity and its pride, and 93 plans focused on ensuring dignified living and social security. Under ‘Porul’, targets include welfare for women and youth, support for farmers, agricultural labourers and fisherfolk, world-class education, and building a prosperous Tamil Nadu.

Under ‘Inbam’, goals include healthcare and environment, world-class infrastructure, people-centric governance and honest administration. The 436 plans have been grouped under 54 categories, and department-wise implementation was discussed, with the Chief Minister outlining guidelines for ministers.

After the meeting, Electricity and Law Minister Nirmalkumar said each department has been assigned separate action plans, including 10 for the power sector. He added that ministers have been instructed to consult officials, finalise implementation methods, assess how quickly plans can be executed, and proceed after obtaining the Chief Minister’s approval.
