Chennai: Minister Arunraj said that “politician Vijay” is stronger than “actor Vijay”, crediting Vijay’s leadership for turning the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) into a major political force.

Speaking at an event, Arunraj said the party’s growth from a small organisation to a key force in Tamil Nadu laid a firm foundation for electoral success. He said the outcome was not accidental, but the result of the leader’s bold efforts.

He attributed the victory to two pillars: Vijay’s strong leadership and TVK’s ideology. Arunraj noted that after decades in which two dominant parties had ruled the state, a new entrant had come into the arena and defeated them.

Arunraj said Vijay’s decision to enter politics was a courageous one and that TVK was more than a fan club. He added that internal surveys consistently indicated strong support for Vijay, especially in urban areas.

Referring to the Karur crowd-crush case, Arunraj said it is with the CBI and the inquiry report is yet to be released. He said the incident deeply unsettled Vijay, and that while Vijay wanted to visit the affected families again in Karur, he was advised against it due to security reasons.
