Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay is set to travel to Delhi on June 10 to take part in the NITI Aayog meeting scheduled for June 11, according to reports.
Vijay assumed office as Chief Minister on May 10 and made his first visit to Delhi on May 27. During that trip, he met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, but returned to Chennai without meeting Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Ahead of the upcoming NITI Aayog meeting chaired by the Prime Minister, Vijay is expected to hold discussions with individuals close to the BJP-led Union government on securing funds for Tamil Nadu’s requirements. His side has also sought appointments with President Droupadi Murmu and Home Minister Amit Shah.
Reports also indicate that ministers and officials may travel with the Chief Minister on a special flight this time. On his earlier visit, only his aide, political adviser and hair stylists accompanied him on a private aircraft, which drew criticism.
