India sealed a commanding innings-and-300-run victory over Afghanistan in the one-off Test at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh Stadium in New Chandigarh, Punjab.
After piling up 564/8 declared in the first innings, India had Afghanistan under pressure by the end of day two, with the visitors on 113/5 and still 451 runs behind.
On day three, Afghanistan’s first innings ended at 152 all out. Debut spinner Manav Sudhar led the charge with six wickets, and India enforced the follow-on.
In the second innings, opener Sediqullah Atal made 42 before being bowled by Washington Sundar. Apart from Rahmanullah (24) and Rahmat Shah (13), the rest failed to reach double figures as Afghanistan were dismissed for 112, with Sundar taking four wickets and Kuldeep three.
India completed the innings win and lifted the trophy.
