A fresh political spat has erupted online between TVK and the AIADMK, with both parties’ information technology wings issuing strongly worded statements against each other.

In its post, TVK’s IT wing mocked the AIADMK’s prospects, claiming the party would “bite the dust” no matter how many elections are held. It also pushed back at remarks about Vijay’s film background, arguing that cinema fame has long been part of Tamil Nadu politics and citing MGR and Jayalalithaa as examples.

TVK further rejected allegations of “horse-trading”, saying it had no need for such deals and accusing the AIADMK of spreading slander. It also took aim at the AIADMK general secretary for, as it put it, celebrating only a single district victory while speaking about an early general election.

Responding, the AIADMK’s IT wing said comparing Vijay with MGR and Jayalalithaa was inappropriate and launched personal attacks on the actor-turned-politician. The statement also accused TVK of horse-trading and claimed the AIADMK would act to “finish” what it called TVK’s “horse-trading power.”
