Chennai: PMK leader Anbumani Ramadoss on Monday said the Thaveka government is functioning well, has brought several changes, and that corruption has reduced significantly.
Speaking to reporters after meeting Chief Minister Vijay, Anbumani said he urged the government to conduct a caste-based census immediately and to announce it in the Governor’s address. He noted that the Thaveka election manifesto’s first promise was a caste census.
He pointed out that the government will complete one month in office on Tuesday, and asked for time for further improvements. While he said corruption has come down in many places, he added that officials “have not changed yet” and may need more time.
Anbumani also criticised the previous DMK government, alleging it did not introduce any new power projects in the last five years and blamed it for the current power cuts. He further said he requested the Chief Minister to convene an all-party meeting on issues including Mekedatu, which he described as vital for Tamil Nadu.
