The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), Chennai, has issued a heavy rain warning for parts of Tamil Nadu over the next few days.
According to the bulletin, heavy rain is likely on June 9 in Tirunelveli, Coimbatore, Nilgiris and Kanniyakumari districts.
For June 10, the RMC said heavy rain may occur in Tirunelveli, Theni and Kanniyakumari districts.
The forecast also indicates a chance of heavy rain on June 11 in the hilly areas of Tirunelveli district and at one or two places in Kanniyakumari district.
On June 12, heavy rain is likely in the hilly areas of Coimbatore district and in Nilgiris, Vellore, Tirupattur, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Erode and Salem districts, the RMC added.
