Congress has termed the rejection of its candidate Meenakshi Natarajan’s nomination for the Rajya Sabha election from Madhya Pradesh as “illegal”.
Natarajan had filed her nomination on behalf of the party, but it was rejected on the allegation that she had concealed details related to criminal cases.
Following the rejection, Congress leaders raised objections and submitted a complaint to the Election Commission in Delhi. The delegation included K C Venugopal and senior advocate Abhishek Singhvi.
Singhvi said the claim that Natarajan hid criminal case details was untrue, asserting that no criminal case is pending against her. He demanded that the decision to reject the nomination be withdrawn, calling the action a clear violation of law.
