Three newly sworn-in chief ministers from South India are expected to attend the NITI Aayog meeting in New Delhi on June 11, drawing attention ahead of the high-level gathering.

The meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will be attended by chief ministers of all states, lieutenant governors of Union Territories and senior Union ministers, including Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. Discussions are expected to focus on development plans and strengthening Centre–state coordination.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay has reached Delhi for the meeting. He is expected to meet President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and senior Congress leaders, and is likely to press for state development initiatives during the NITI Aayog deliberations.

Kerala Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan is also expected to participate and raise issues related to the state’s public concerns. Karnataka Chief Minister Shivakumar, who is in Delhi to meet All India Congress Committee leaders, visit the party headquarters and hold discussions with senior officials, is expected to attend the meeting as well.
