Advance bookings for Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film The Odyssey have seen a strong rush in India, with several IMAX shows turning housefull despite premium pricing.

The film is slated for release on July 17. It has drawn heightened attention as it is being billed as the first feature-length movie shot entirely using IMAX cameras.

With about five weeks still to go for release, pre-bookings for select IMAX screens opened on June 8. In metro markets such as Mumbai and Delhi, some tickets were priced as high as ₹3,300.

In Mumbai, the ₹3,300 tickets at PVR ICON at Phoenix Palladium Mall were reported to have sold out. At Wadala’s Mirage Cinemas IMAX, tickets were being sold at around ₹1,800.

In Delhi and nearby areas, PVR IMAX tickets were listed in the ₹2,100–₹2,400 range. Tickets for the first two days have already sold out, and weekend shows are also filling up, indicating a strong opening for the film on IMAX screens in India.
