New Delhi: Delhi-based SMPB, a company engaged in making defence equipment and drones, has supplied a batch of ‘kamikaze’ drones to the Indian Army.

In a statement, the firm said it has delivered 106 suicide drones branded ‘Agnivek’. The drone is claimed to have a top speed of 450 kmph and an endurance range of up to 180 km.

According to the company, the system is designed to strike and destroy high-value targets such as enemy military infrastructure, communication centres and radar stations.

The statement added that the drone has been engineered to reach its target even if GPS signals are jammed or attempts are made to disable it.
