Ayodhya’s grand Ram temple, built under the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, has come under scrutiny after allegations of irregularities in donation collections.

Mahipal Singh, who previously handled the temple’s accounts, recently complained that malpractice had been taking place for a long period in the donation process.

Citing the same allegation, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav criticised the BJP for remaining silent on the issue.

Responding to the controversy, Mahant Kamal Nayan Das—successor to trust chief Mahant Nritya Gopal Das—said the allegations should be investigated without bias. He added that a fair and transparent probe is needed and urged all trust members to cooperate.

Former BJP MP Brij Bhushan Singh also claimed he knew “many details” about the alleged irregularities, but said he was not in a position to reveal them now, citing potential trouble for himself and describing those involved as powerful.
