Chief Minister Vijay visited the renowned Mookambika Amman Temple in Kollur, Udupi district, after concluding his Delhi trip and arriving via Mangaluru.
Temple authorities accorded him a traditional reception with Poorna Kumbha honours. He offered prayers and took part in special rituals at the shrine.
As part of his offerings, the Chief Minister presented a silver sword weighing 1 kg and 600 grams to the deity, according to the temple administration.
Security arrangements in and around the temple complex were strengthened in view of his visit. The Kollur temple is a major pilgrimage centre that draws large numbers of devotees, including political leaders and public figures, every day.
