Delhi meeting chaired by Shah
Union Home Minister Amit Shah told Tamil Nadu BJP functionaries that the party’s ideological rivals in the state are the DMK and the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK). He made the remarks during the Tamil Nadu BJP state core committee meeting held in Delhi.
Senior leaders attended
The meeting was attended by BJP national president Nitin Nabin, national general secretary (organisation) Santhosh, Tamil Nadu BJP president Nainar Nagendran, in-charges Arvind Menon and Sudhakar Reddy, Union minister Murugan, and senior leaders including Raja, Radhakrishnan, Tamilisai and Vanathi.
Outreach plan across districts
Shah asked the state unit to take the welfare schemes introduced by the Narendra Modi-led Union government to people across all sections in Tamil Nadu. He directed that senior leaders be deputed district-wise to hold public meetings and press interactions.
Message after Annamalai’s exit
Referring to Annamalai’s exit, Shah said party workers should be made to feel that it has not affected the BJP, and that office-bearers must focus fully on organisational growth. He also asked leaders to speak to the public about alleged corruption during the previous DMK rule and about alleged wrongdoings under TVK’s administration.
Call for unity
Urging the unit to work in unison for the BJP’s growth in Tamil Nadu, Shah told functionaries not to worry and said he would take care of matters, while their task was to meet workers and communicate the Union government’s achievements to the public.
