Lt Gen Dheeraj Seth has been appointed as the next Chief of the Indian Army, according to reports from New Delhi.
He will succeed Gen Upendra Dwivedi, the current Army Chief, who is set to retire on June 30. Seth is presently serving as the Deputy Chief of the Army.
An alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Seth joined the Army in 1986. He has served in various roles over a 40-year career.
Lt Gen Seth is scheduled to assume charge on June 30.
