Rain delayed the start of the first One-Day International between India and Afghanistan in Dharamsala on Friday.
The match was scheduled to begin at 1.30 pm, but persistent showers forced officials to hold up play.
The ODI series marks the start of a three-match contest between the sides, coming after India’s win over Afghanistan in the preceding Test match.
If the rain continues, the game could be played with reduced overs. A complete washout could also lead to the match being called off.
