Chennai: The Rajinikanth Fans Welfare Association has issued an official statement asking political parties and organisations not to use actor Rajinikanth’s name or photographs.
The announcement was released on behalf of the All India Rajinikanth Fans Welfare Association by Sampathkumar. It said the instruction was issued as per Rajinikanth’s directive and was being communicated to fan club office-bearers and fans.
According to the statement, Rajinikanth’s name or image should not be used for any party or organisation.
The move follows recent complaints that Rajinikanth’s name and certain photographs were being misused by some groups in the backdrop of the current political climate. Fan club representatives said the clarification was issued in response to those concerns.
