Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Friday alleged that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi speaks in the Lok Sabha “every time” only to find fault and complain.
Speaking at an event in Bengaluru, Sitharaman said India is steadily emerging as a fast-growing economy year after year, and claimed Gandhi fails to recognise the government’s focus on the economy and the public.
She further accused him of belittling India’s achievements and, by extension, the accomplishments of its people.
Referring to the West Asia conflict, Sitharaman said Prime Minister Narendra Modi ensured uninterrupted fuel supply despite challenges, stressing that steps were taken to prevent any disruption in distribution.
Earlier in the day, she took part in a mass cleaning drive in Bengaluru under the Swachh Bharat programme.
