The Regional Meteorological Centre in Chennai has forecast rain in parts of Tamil Nadu on June 14 due to an upper-air cyclonic circulation prevailing over north coastal Tamil Nadu.

According to the bulletin, thunderstorms with moderate rain are likely in Chengalpattu, Kanchipuram, Chennai, Tiruvannamalai, Perambalur, Ariyalur, Pudukkottai, Cuddalore, Villupuram and Kallakurichi districts.

The Met office also said Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Mayiladuthurai and other delta districts could receive heavy rain accompanied by strong winds of 40–50 kmph.

In the last 24 hours, the highest rainfall was recorded at Nalumukku in Tirunelveli district (7 cm), while Dharmapuri district reported 6 cm. The maximum temperature was recorded in Madurai at 104°F.

For Chennai, the sky is expected to remain cloudy, with moderate rain and thunderstorms likely in some parts of the city.
