Erode: Health Minister Arunraj on Saturday said the TVK government would “embrace” people from other parties who come forward placing their trust in TVK.

He was speaking to reporters after attending a graduation ceremony at the Government Medical College Hospital in Perundurai, Erode district. Arunraj said the government’s goal is to provide quality healthcare to everyone.

As part of that effort, he said hospitals are being inspected and requirements are being addressed. He added that government hospitals would be improved in phases by reducing waiting time, ensuring clean toilets and introducing low-cost canteens.

Arunraj also said a proposal to set up a specialised cancer treatment centre in Erode would be considered.

Responding to a question about DMK leader Stalin’s remark that Chief Minister Vijay was “shopping” for AIADMK MLAs, Arunraj said it reflected the ambition of a person who wanted to become chief minister by aligning with the very party that was once opposed, and reiterated that TVK would welcome those who come with trust.
