India clinched the gold medal in the mixed team event at the Archery World Cup Stage 3 being held in Antalya, Turkey.
Dhiraj (24) and Kumkum (17) defeated South Korea’s Olympic champions Oh Ye Jin and Kim Je Deok by 5-1 in the final to seal the title.
The victory marked the first time the Indian pair has won gold together in the mixed team category. On the way to the final, India overcame Denmark, the United States and Germany in the knockout rounds.
Dhiraj is also set to compete in the individual semifinals. If he advances, he will be assured of a second medal at the event.
Kumkum was part of the Indian team that won gold at the Archery World Cup Stage 2 in Shanghai, China, last month.
