Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on a visit to France to attend the G7 summit, met French President Emmanuel Macron in Nice for discussions on key matters.
Earlier, the two leaders jointly inaugurated the “Bharat Innovates” event held in the city. Following the programme, they held an official meeting at the heritage Villa Kerylos on the French Riviera.
Villa Kerylos is a landmark structure built in the early 1900s in a Greek architectural style by French architect Emmanuel Pontremoli. President Macron welcomed Prime Minister Modi with a warm embrace on his arrival.
The talks covered a range of important issues, including India–France relations. India’s National Security Adviser Ajit Doval, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, along with senior officials, attended the meeting.
On the French side, Europe and Foreign Affairs Minister Jean-Noël Barrot and other senior officials were present alongside President Macron.
