New Delhi: With the NEET re-examination scheduled for June 21, many students remain anxious about whether the question paper could leak again. A Rajasthan-based teacher who first raised the alarm on the suspected leak has said he is confident the retest will proceed without confusion.

NEET, the national entrance test for undergraduate medical courses, was conducted across India on May 3, with around 22 lakh candidates appearing. After reports that the paper had leaked even before the exam, the National Testing Agency (NTA) ordered the test to be cancelled and announced a re-exam.

Ahead of the retest, the Union government has introduced what it describes as stringent safeguards. Paper setters, evaluators and translators have been isolated in secret locations without internet access, and security has been tightened to restrict access to everyone involved from preparation through distribution.

The plan also includes transporting question papers to exam centres using Indian Air Force aircraft and helicopters. The whistleblower, Sasikant Sudar, a chemistry teacher at a private coaching centre in Sikar, said these measures should prevent any leak, while adding that stronger monitoring is needed in the future to ensure students are not affected.

Despite the steps announced, the report notes that doubts about the integrity of the re-exam continue to circulate among students.
