DMK president M.K. Stalin on Monday questioned whether he should remain silent for six months even as, he said, people’s lives and children’s safety were under threat.

In a statement, Stalin said the Chief Minister had earlier spoken about forming a “Singappen” force, but asked whether the government was hearing the cries of parents who had lost young children.

He also sought answers on when the government would address public safety concerns, and what steps were being taken to prevent criminals from committing offences without fear.

Stalin further asked when the Chief Minister, whom he accused of making bold claims earlier, would come out of “silent mode”. He warned that if issues were not addressed, the DMK would intensify its agitation.
