Washington: US President Donald Trump has denied reports claiming that the United States would provide Rs 3,000 crore to Iran as part of a ceasefire understanding.
The US-Iran war, which lasted 107 days and disrupted global energy markets, is now moving toward a conclusion. Reports say a peace agreement is set to be signed on June 19, while both sides are expected to continue talks for the next 60 days to work toward a final, comprehensive settlement.
According to information circulating about a 14-point memorandum of understanding, the package includes steps such as dropping military action against Lebanon, lifting the US naval blockade on Iranian ports, and reopening the Strait of Hormuz.
Amid claims that US funds would support Iran’s reconstruction plans, Trump said the allegation was spread by Democrats and is untrue. He also stated that Iran has agreed it will never possess nuclear weapons.
