Viralimalai MLA and former minister C Vijayabaskar has resigned from his post, in a development that reduces the AIADMK’s strength in the Tamil Nadu Assembly.
According to reports, Vijayabaskar met Speaker Prabhakar in person and handed over his resignation letter.
The Speaker later announced that the resignation had been accepted.
The report also noted that the resignation comes amid a group of dissatisfied MLAs led by C V Shanmugam.
