The 52nd G7 summit began in Evian, France, bringing together leaders of the United States, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the United Kingdom.

Alongside the member nations, several countries including India, Brazil, Egypt and Kenya are attending as special invitees.

During a six-day Europe tour linked to the summit, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney delivered a speech at Trinity College in Ireland. He said the time when the G7 could control the world as a whole has ended, and added that the group would not pretend otherwise.

Carney noted that addressing today’s global challenges requires broader international cooperation and alternative perspectives. He said India’s participation reflects the changing realities in global economics and politics.
