Chennai: Congress ministers Viswanathan and Rajeshkumar have criticised the DMK leadership, saying it is “strange” for the party to speak about federalism while refusing to share power with its alliance partners.
In a joint statement, they alleged that the DMK formed the government with the support of coalition parties but later denied them a role in governance. They also objected to Chief Minister M.K. Stalin’s reported remark that a coalition government would not work for Tamil Nadu, calling such language inconsistent with democratic values.
The ministers further accused the DMK of repeatedly crossing limits in its criticism of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, claiming that harsh allegations are being published daily in the party’s mouthpiece, “Murasoli”.
They urged the DMK to first examine why minority communities and Scheduled Caste voters did not support it, instead of blaming alliance partners. Warning that arrogance invites public punishment, they said continued crude attacks could leave the DMK unable to return to power.
