Chennai: After the BJP’s poor performance in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, the party’s national leadership is said to be planning major organisational changes in the state.

According to party circles, Tamil Nadu BJP president Nayinar Nagendran may be appointed as the Governor of Kerala. The move is being discussed as part of a broader reshuffle following the election setback.

The same sources indicate that the current Kerala Governor, Rajendra Arlekar, could be appointed as the full-time Governor of Tamil Nadu.

Meanwhile, BJP national general secretary (organisation) B.L. Santhosh is expected to visit Tamil Nadu soon to hold consultations on selecting a new state party president. An announcement is likely after his visit, party sources said.
