Chennai: DMK president M.K. Stalin on Tuesday appealed to Chief Minister Vijay to first read news reports about himself and his administration, and to take action based on the facts.
Speaking at a wedding function hosted by a DMK MP’s family in Vanagaram, Stalin said the DMK stood as an example of how a state party should function. He noted that while many parties disappear after a single electoral defeat, the DMK has continued for 75 years, driven by ideology and goals.
Stalin said the party works for people whether it is in power or not. Turning to the present political climate, he referred to the reach of social media and how narratives there can shift quickly.
He said earlier social media posts focused on appearances and personal details, but that such content fades and is replaced by reports on wrongdoing taking place in the country.
Stalin concluded by urging the Chief Minister to read the reports about his government, identify what is true in them, and take appropriate steps.
