Senior officials of HD Hyundai met Chief Minister Vijay in Chennai to discuss a proposed modern shipbuilding project in Thoothukudi, estimated at ₹38,000 crore.
The meeting was held at the Secretariat, where a high-level delegation from the company participated in discussions on the project’s implementation and investment framework.
Young Hoon Kwan, Director of HD Hyundai’s global business division, was among those present and held detailed consultations with the Chief Minister on operational plans and investment modalities.
Officials indicated that if the project is executed with proper planning and guidance, it is expected to boost economic growth in Thoothukudi district and expand employment opportunities for youth in southern Tamil Nadu.
