Tamil Nadu BJP president Nainar Nagendran on Tuesday said the party would take a call on whether it would form an alliance with the DMK only at the time of elections.
Speaking to reporters in Tirunelveli, he alleged that within 35 days of the Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam government taking charge, law and order had deteriorated, with an increase in crimes including sexual assault and murder.
He further claimed the government had failed to control narcotics and said crimes were rising because the police were not given full freedom. He urged Chief Minister Vijay to focus on resolving public issues.
Nagendran also accused minister Aadhav Arjuna of attempting to “buy” AIADMK MLAs and of drawing MLAs from other parties through horse-trading, leading to unnecessary by-elections and wastage of public money.
Reiterating his stand on alliances, he said the BJP would consult and announce its decision during the election period, adding that the coming times would belong to the BJP.
