Chennai: Tamil Nadu Power Minister Nirmal Kumar on Wednesday said a white paper detailing the current status of the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) will be released next week.

Speaking in an interview, the minister also made sharp political allegations, claiming the DMK functions as an indirect face of the BJP and questioning why the Governor has not signed a file related to action against Senthil Balaji.

On law and order, he said crimes were allegedly concealed during the previous five-year regime, citing delays in action in the Anna University matter and the Mookapair minor sexual assault case. He asserted that the present government is taking immediate steps and that the Chief Minister has instructed officials to act without leniency.

The minister added that appropriate officials have been appointed to handle cases across the state and said the government is not “covering up” incidents. He also said the Chief Minister is planning to expand the “Singappen” force.
