Union Minister of State L Murugan on Wednesday said high-speed rail projects will be implemented on key corridors including the Chennai–Bengaluru and Chennai–Hyderabad routes. He added that the Mumbai–Ahmedabad bullet train project is expected to be opened for public use next year.
Murugan was speaking at the launch of a long-term skill development programme in 3D animation and VFX at the Anna Cantonment Higher Secondary School in Pallavaram, Chennai.
Referring to changes in storytelling, he said content today must capture attention within seconds, unlike earlier formats that ran for hours. He noted that Indian stories are receiving strong global acceptance and that India has a large pool of technology artists.
He said post-production work for Hollywood films is being carried out by technical artists in cities such as Chennai, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru. Highlighting the expanding job market in the AVGC sector, he said an international “WAVES” conference with participation from 77 countries was held in Mumbai and will be conducted again next year.
Under the National Education Policy, he said AVGC courses are being introduced in 15,000 schools and 500 colleges across the country. He also pointed to achievements by Indian youth in digital payments, start-ups and modern technology.
