MDMK general secretary Vaiko has praised the TVK government’s “far-sighted vision,” saying it was clearly reflected through the Governor’s address, delivered in Chennai.

In a statement, Vaiko referred to Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar’s speech, which announced that long-term initiatives would be rolled out under the banner “Vetri Tamilagam” to make Tamil Nadu a model state for India by 2031.

He said the government’s commitment to eradicate bribery and corruption in administration and ensure transparent governance was commendable, adding that it aimed to function as a government for all.

Vaiko also welcomed the announcement to prevent illegal exploitation of mineral resources. He noted that despite financial constraints and what he described as bias in central fund sharing, the TVK government was showing determination to fulfil its election promises.

He further cited plans to fully digitise the state government machinery and to eliminate the drug culture, calling these measures part of the government’s long-term outlook presented by Chief Minister Vijay through the Governor’s address.
