VCK president Thol. Thirumavalavan has reprimanded certain district-level functionaries for allegedly allocating party responsibilities to several members of the same family, party sources said.

The Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi is currently undergoing an organisational reshuffle. Regional in-charges have been appointed constituency-wise for Lok Sabha segments, while district secretaries have been named for Assembly constituencies. Appointments for union-level and other wings are also under way.

Amid the process, some office-bearers reportedly raised concerns that a single family was securing multiple positions within the party. Following these complaints, Thirumavalavan summoned the concerned district functionaries and issued a warning.

According to party functionaries, some district secretaries were facilitating posts for their wife, mother and brother in various party units. Thirumavalavan has ordered a review of the already-prepared list of office-bearers and instructed that only one person per family should be given a party post, so that deserving members are not sidelined.

The review has led to delays in finalising new appointments, the sources added.
