Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay turned 52 on June 22, drawing birthday greetings from leaders across the political spectrum, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, DMK leader M.K. Stalin and Annamalai.

In a message shared publicly, PM Modi wished the Chief Minister a long life and good health. Rahul Gandhi conveyed birthday wishes and said he would stand with Vijay in efforts related to protecting the rights and dignity of Tamil people and working together for the state’s development.

Stalin extended his greetings and wished Vijay happiness and physical and mental well-being in public life. Annamalai, founder of the “We The Leaders” organisation, also wished the Chief Minister good health and longevity, adding that he prayed for Vijay’s public service to continue.

In the Tamil Nadu Assembly, opposition leader Udhayanidhi offered birthday wishes on behalf of DMK MLAs, which Vijay acknowledged with folded hands. Udhayanidhi then criticised the government’s performance, while also thanking it for continuing the women’s entitlement assistance and praising the expansion of the breakfast scheme, and questioned why the “Naan Mudhalvan” programme was being dropped.
