Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has rejected a remark by US President Donald Trump suggesting Israel follows his directives in West Asia.
Speaking at an international summit in Jerusalem, Netanyahu said neither leader does “everything the other wants,” describing both as heads of “independent and proud” nations. He noted that their views do not always align and that disagreements do occur.
Netanyahu added that despite periodic differences, both leaders prioritise their respective national agendas. He said he stands for Israel’s interests and security.
He also underlined that the two sides often agree, though not always, and said they respect each other’s sovereignty, leadership and commitment to their people.
