Mumbai: Amid fresh turmoil in Maharashtra politics, Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray faction) chief Uddhav Thackeray said he would speak to the media about the party’s internal developments when he feels the timing is appropriate.

The remarks come after six MPs from his party reportedly aligned with the BJP. The MPs also skipped a parliamentary party meeting despite being invited, a move that the Uddhav camp said came as a shock.

Leaders from Thackeray’s party alleged that the disgruntled MPs were offered deals running up to Rs 50 crore, with Rs 25 crore allegedly paid as an advance. The party also announced it would stage a major protest against the MPs.

Speaking to reporters on Sunday (June 22), Thackeray said the dissenting MPs should first present their position. He added that his side would also put forward its stand soon.

He reiterated that he would call the media and speak in detail when he believes the time is right.
