A hand gesture popularly dubbed the ‘finishing’ sign—earlier made by DMK leader M.K. Stalin ahead of the Assembly elections—has resurfaced in Tamil Nadu politics.

After the election results, V.S. Babu, who contested and won from Kolathur on behalf of Thaveka, met reporters and repeated the same gesture to signal his victory. The clip quickly went viral online.

On Monday, during his reply in the Assembly, Chief Minister Vijay sought the Speaker’s permission and reenacted Stalin’s gesture on the House floor.

The development came amid disruptions in the Assembly, with the DMK staging a walkout and the House later being adjourned.
