Hyderabad has named a prominent road after US President Donald Trump, marking what the state government described as a symbol of the city’s growing role in the India–US partnership.

The decision follows an announcement made by Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy during the Telangana Rising conference held in December last year, where he said a road would be named in Trump’s honour.

Accordingly, a key stretch near the US Consulate in Nanakramguda, located in Hyderabad’s Financial District, has been designated as Donald Trump Avenue. The event was attended by US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor and Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka.

Speaking at the function, Bhatti Vikramarka said the United States is not just a country on a map for Hyderabad’s families, but also represents loved ones and friends living in places such as Boston, New Jersey and Seattle. He added that the naming should be more than a ceremonial signboard, and that the road should carry the journeys of students, scientists, entrepreneurs, investors, families and dreamers.
