India defeated Pakistan 4-3 in an FIH Pro League hockey match in London on Tuesday, extending their strong recent record against their arch-rivals.
The fixture drew attention as it was the first meeting between the two sides since the 2024 Asian Champions Trophy. Over the last 10 years, the teams have faced each other 17 times, with India recording 15 wins and two draws.
Pakistan struck first in the opening quarter to take a 1-0 lead. India responded strongly in the second quarter, with Dilpreet Singh scoring the equaliser and Nilakant Sharma adding another to put India ahead 2-1 at half-time.
India widened the gap early in the third quarter through Sukhjeet Singh to make it 3-1. In the final quarter, Rajinder converted a penalty to score India’s fourth, while Pakistan managed two goals, but India held on to win 4-3.
