Opposition leader Udhayanidhi on Tuesday accused Chief Minister Vijay of turning the Tamil Nadu Assembly into a “film shooting location”, alleging that the CM’s reply to the debate on the Governor’s address was delivered in a cinematic, campaign-style manner.
Speaking to reporters after staging a walkout, Udhayanidhi claimed the Chief Minister came with a prepared text and refused to respond to questions until he finished it, comparing the approach to the atmosphere of a movie set.
He also alleged that the government was attempting to pin every development in the state on the DMK. Referring to the Governor’s address, he said the national anthem was sung twice and argued that the Tamil Thai Vazhthu could also have been rendered twice.
Udhayanidhi further criticised what he described as theatrical conduct in the House, saying the Chief Minister’s speech appeared designed for social media “reels” and trending. He also said the CM had levelled allegations about party fund collection without providing evidence, and demanded clarity on which party and who had collected such funds.
