Chennai: Minister Adhav on Thursday levelled fresh allegations against the DMK, claiming that “collections” were made across 32 government departments during the party’s rule and were split into 16 departments each for Udhayanidhi Stalin and his relative Sabareesan.

Speaking to reporters in Chennai, Adhav said the ministers concerned allegedly collected the money and delivered it as part of this arrangement. He argued that the public should be able to see how the ruling side responds when opposition leaders raise people’s issues in the Assembly.

Adhav also criticised what he described as selective media coverage, saying opposition voices are often not aired while only the Chief Minister’s remarks are highlighted. He said transparency should be ensured, including by bringing Assembly proceedings to the public.

He further alleged that the DMK had a “department-wise plan” for corruption and cited the School Education Department, claiming private schools were made to pay Rs 25 lakh each to renew licences. Adhav also made political accusations that DMK leaders were acting at the behest of M K Stalin and attempting to weaken allied parties.
