Leaders of the INDIA alliance have prepared a letter to the Chief Justice of India alleging a lack of transparency in elections and raising concerns about alleged vote theft and related irregularities, including procedures linked to special intensive revision of electoral rolls.

The move follows an INDIA bloc meeting held in Delhi on June 8, after the Assembly election results in Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Kerala, Puducherry and Assam. The meeting, chaired by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, was attended by leaders from 23 parties, including Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Mamata Banerjee, Tejashwi Yadav, Akhilesh Yadav, Supriya Sule, Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti.

From Tamil Nadu, VCK leader Thol. Thirumavalavan and MDMK general secretary Vaiko participated. However, no representatives from the DMK or the Aam Aadmi Party attended the meeting.

The alliance also took several decisions, including demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET question paper leak, urging an all-party meeting to discuss economic stress, holding INDIA leaders’ consultations once every two months, and coordinating action inside Parliament during the Monsoon Session.

According to reports, signatures from INDIA bloc leaders have already been collected on the letter, but the DMK initially did not respond and later conveyed through senior MPs that the party leadership is not inclined to sign. The letter is expected to be submitted to the Chief Justice next week, and some alliance leaders hope the DMK can still be persuaded to join.
