Chennai: With the Tamil Nadu government’s Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) conducting searches at premises linked to former minister E.V. Velu, DMK president M.K. Stalin has said his party will not be intimidated.
In a statement, Stalin said DVAC officials were carrying out a raid at the residence of Velu, who is the DMK’s Tiruvannamalai South district secretary. He added that Velu is extending full cooperation to the officials.
Stalin said Velu would face the matter in accordance with the law and would establish his side before the court.
Alleging political vendetta, Stalin claimed that historically even a single case filed alleging corruption during the DMK’s tenure has not been able to prove the charges. He said the DMK has faced greater repression in the past and would confront this too and succeed.
